Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions we're asked most often, by topic. Service-specific questions also appear on each service page.

General

What services does Arboura provide?

Four service lines: digital transformation, data/AI and analytics, technology solutions, and consulting and managed services — data is the founding capability the other three build on.

How does an engagement with Arboura start?

Most engagements begin with a scoped assessment, typically in one week, that establishes current maturity and produces a sequenced roadmap.

Can we speak in Arabic?

Yes. Enquiries, meetings, workshops and reporting are available in Arabic or English — Arabic is a working language at Arboura, not a translation step applied at the end.

Is a first conversation chargeable?

No. Scoping conversations happen before any commercial discussion. Chargeable work begins at the scoped assessment, agreed in writing beforehand.

Which GCC markets does Arboura serve?

We work with enterprises across the GCC — from a single Bahrain-headquartered team, in Arabic or English.

Digital Transformation

What does a digital transformation readiness assessment framework cover?

It scores an organisation across process, technology, data and people maturity, then translates the gaps into a prioritised, sequenced set of initiatives rather than a generic maturity label.

What is included in a target operating model design engagement?

Current-state mapping, a future operating model design covering structure, process and technology, and a transition plan that sequences the move without disrupting live services.

How is a costed digital transformation roadmap built?

Each initiative is costed, sequenced against dependencies, and tied to a measurable benefit — giving a board-ready business case with phased investment gates.

Data, AI and Analytics

Which cloud data platforms does Arboura build on?

AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Snowflake and Databricks, selected against the client's existing estate, data residency requirements and scale.

Why does data governance matter for GCC organisations specifically?

Regimes such as Saudi Arabia's NDMO standards and PDPL, and equivalent Bahrain, UAE, Qatar and Oman laws, place direct obligations on data handling — analytics built without governance in place often fails review at the point it becomes useful.

What is the difference between an operational and an executive Power BI dashboard?

Operational dashboards track day-to-day metrics for teams running a process; executive dashboards summarise trend and exception for leadership decisions — the two need different data models, not just different layouts.

Technology Solutions

How long does a typical ERP implementation take?

It depends on scope and modules, but phasing against the transformation roadmap — core finance first, then extending modules — lands a usable system faster than a single big-bang go-live.

When does custom software make more sense than an off-the-shelf platform?

When the workflow itself is a competitive differentiator, or when no vendor platform fits the process without heavy, fragile customisation.

Consulting and Managed Services

What does financial modelling and revenue forecasting include in a strategy engagement?

A revenue forecast, expense projections, and scenario planning stress-tested against different growth assumptions — built to support the operating model and go-to-market decisions in the same engagement, not as a standalone spreadsheet exercise.

Why does business analysis reduce delivery risk?

Business process mapping, requirements gathering and gap analysis before build starts remove the most common cause of rework — technology built against assumptions nobody validated.

Does Arboura run Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery?

All three — including Agile and SAFe delivery — selected against the programme's risk profile and constraints rather than a fixed house methodology.
